The Laundrette Spins Into Newcastle
Newcastles newest bar and restaurant The Laundrette opened its doors on Westgate Road for a recent VIP evening, before officially launching to the public on Monday 2nd October 2017. Guests had the chance to check out the new-look city centre hotspot and tuck into its carb-o-licious dishes and signature cocktails to the sounds of a saxophone player and resident DJ. Believing that eating is treating, the Manchester favourite has brought its popular cocktails and carbs menus to the North East – perfectly paired with a laid-back soundtrack and an up-beat atmosphere. The Laundrette is open seven days a week from 10am to 12am.

I have known Managing Director, Mike Grahamslaw for many years now and have featured regularly in his recent venture Northern Insight. During this period he has unfailingly demonstrated a unique set of attributes which always makes him a pleasure to do business with. Firstly, Mike displays an extraordinary array of customer service skills by dealing with all calls with enthusiasm, efficiency and professionalism alongside going above and beyond the call of duty in order to ensure his clients are happy. This is, in my opinion, a rare quality found in society today. In addition to this, Mike exhibits courtesy, politeness and extreme confidence when dealing with any matter. He possesses high levels of integrity and empathy and has unquestionably treated me with total respect during my dealings with him which is incredibly endearing quality. He strives hard to meet deadlines and by nature is an exceptionally trustworthy and sincere person. An inherently nice guy who deserves to succeed in business.

Mike and Northern Insight are great advocates for the North East regional business and leisure sectors.
Mike and I go back a long way – I was Editor of Northern Executive, a quarterly engineering magazine and he was working for North East Times when we first met way back in the mid 90’s. – we were both NUFC, rugby and real ale fans, Geordies who believed in straight talk and I liked him straight away.
New agencies and new media have sprung up in this digital age but we have the advantage of experience of the pre-digital era when marketing and publishing were very different and relied on honesty and transparency with contacts, and skill and effort at work.
The technology may have changed but those values haven’t, which is maybe why we’re both still in the business when others have come and gone…
