Physiotherapy Practice Flexes Its Muscles After £65k Investment

Issue 34

Leading North East physiotherapy practice, Achilles Physio, has reported a 110 percent growth in sales after a large-scale investment into the recently relaunched business

Hexham based Achilles Physio relaunched in September 2017 after a change in ownership and has invested £65,000 into new equipment, rebranding the private practice and a recruitment drive across the business.

Specialising in fully integrated treatments including physiotherapy, sports massage, pilates and acupuncture, Achilles Physio aims to help clients reach their full potential whatever the cause or condition of the pain. The team focus on patient well-being and their innovative methodology has been created to get people rehabilitated and back to doing the things that they love. Their method of approach has been built to take clients through carefully considered steps from diagnosis, to treatment, to rehabilitation, in the hope they don’t need to return for further treatment.

Kristi Bester, Director of Physiotherapy at Achilles Physio, said: “Our relaunch has boosted a huge growth in clientele over the past six months, and with the practice’s rebranding and recruitment expansion, we’re expecting further growth over the coming year. We are looking for dynamic, passionate and friendly people to join our team as we continue to grow.

“At Achilles Physio we understand the modern day pressures, the barriers to exercise and ever-changing nutritional habits, which is why – in addition to our physical treatments – we will work with you to develop a practical rehabilitation and fitness plan, expertly tailored to your personal lifestyle and individual goals. From elderly clients with chronic pain to active individuals with sports injuries, we see clients travel from across the region to receive quality treatment from our experts.”

The private practice currently has one part time and two full time physiotherapists and is in the process of recruiting across the business to cope with growing customer demand. New roles include new full time experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapists and a receptionist to aid in the day to day running of the company.

Alongside a commitment to recruiting from the pool of talent in the North East, the team at Achilles Physio are working with regional colleges and universities to offer opportunities for the future of the profession. The practice offers multiple opportunities for young people who are interested in a career in physiotherapy to train and shadow some of the leading physiotherapists in the region.

Kristi continued, “There is no better reward than being able to assist patients in their rehabilitation and have a better quality of life. I am lucky enough to have practiced around the world in a host of different physiotherapy settings that has advanced my knowledge and experience in physiotherapy, pilates and acupuncture. Having my own physiotherapy practice is a dream come true. I love Hexham and it’s very satisfying for me to help the local community.

“To assist in further rehabilitation after physiotherapy, we are excited to now offer individual strength and conditioning coaching with highly trained practitioners from Smart Fitness. Achilles Physio has been welcomed by the Hexham community with open arms, and we look forward to expanding our services into Newcastle within the next six months.”
