Bloom Announced As One Of The North East’s Largest Companies

Issue 53

Gateshead-based, Bloom Procurement Services, has been named in The Journal’s top 200 list and is also shortlisted for the ‘Highest Climber’ award.

The Awards, which are in association with Newcastle United football club, will be held on 19 November 2019 at a business breakfast event at St James Park.

The Top 200 list is published every year by The Journal and ranks the region’s largest companies by turnover.

Established in 2012, Bloom provides a full end-to-end marketplace solution for the procurement, contract management and payment of all consultancy and professional services. Bloom’s solution supports and assists the entire UK public sector to buy and manage professional services from a choice of regional and national suppliers.

At present, the growing company employs over 65 staff across offices in Gateshead, London and Manchester. Its turnover in the past two years has risen from £92m to £173m.

Adam Jacobs, founder and executive chairman, at Bloom Procurement Services, said: “To make the top 200 and to be shortlisted for the ‘Highest Climber’ award is a fantastic achievement. Our rapid growth since 2012 has been an exciting journey for the business and this reflects on the innovation and hard work of our teams.

“The Bloom marketplace is connecting public sector buyers and professional suppliers in a unique way, enabling both buyers and suppliers to be part of an ever-growing community, benefiting from collaborative ways of working. We are enabling buyers to move quickly and at the lowest possible cost, whilst at the same time, we are opening up the market to all suppliers, removing the traditional barriers of marketing and selling to public sector bodies.”

Bloom is the exclusive provider of the multi-billion-pound NEPRO³ procurement solution on behalf of NEPO (the North East Procurement Organisation). NEPRO³ will open up procurement opportunities for public sector buyers – giving them access to a constantly evolving supply chain. The solution will deliver substantial savings to the public sector.

Adam said “During times of uncertainty surrounding Brexit, it is encouraging for all to see the successes that are being achieved in the North East. There are a wide range of companies from a whole host of sectors that have made the list and we must take this as a sign that the economy is continuing to grow. At Bloom, we are committed to the North East. Our mission is to enable public sector organisations to work with the very best suppliers. We are looking forward to another fantastic year of growth and we wish our fellow nominees the best of luck at the awards. There truly is a lot to celebrate about businesses in the North East right now.”
