Verisure To Create 1,000 Jobs

Issue 57

Verisure UK Services Limited has announced that the Quorum Business Park, North Tyneside, is the location of its new UK operating site, with a commitment to create 1,000 jobs.

The company, which is Europe’s largest domestic alarm provider, with more than 3.3 million customers in 17 countries, is already advertising roles within its marketing and operations teams and expects to have 100 people in place this year. The company, which is investing £3 million in the move, has an existing operations facility in Brentford, where staff have been given the opportunity to relocate. However, the vast majority of jobs will be offered to people in the North East and will be in customer service, technical support, field operations, training, IT, telesales, HR and finance.

Verisure, has signed an 11-year lease at the 104,000 sq ft NEON Building, which is currently being adapted to meet its needs. Verisure’s managing director, Gabino Sanchez, said: “We have chosen North Tyneside as the ideal location for our new site after deep analysis of more than 15 of the UK’s larger urban areas. It stood out for many reasons including the friendliness of the people, the incredible quality of life and the high standard of education.

“We have been tremendously encouraged by the expert guidance, support and enthusiasm of Invest North East England, who we were first introduced to in 2018 and greatly assisted with information and the coordination of a number of insightful visits to the region. Likewise, North Tyneside Council and the North of Tyne Combined Authority were a hugely positive influence on us and convinced us that North Tyneside was the perfect location from which Verisure can meet its very ambitious growth targets.

“This is a very exciting time for Verisure UK. Our growth and our success has moved us forward towards expansion. We are well on our way to achieving our ambition to be the largest provider of monitored alarms in the UK. Our success is due to many factors and a large part of that is the contribution of our employees. This new facility will give us the room to reach our goals while ensuring we continue to provide a best-in-class service to our growing customer base.”

Jamie Driscoll, Mayor of the North of Tyne Combined Authority, said: “I’m here to help create good, permanent jobs for the North of Tyne region and this is a cracking start. I met with the directors of Verisure and I could tell they were impressed with everything we had to offer.”

Guy Currey, Director, Invest North East England, said: “It has been an absolute pleasure supporting Verisure with its expansion project. From our initial conversation back in 2018, we have worked very closely with the team to convince them that the North East has everything they need in place to be successful.”

Cllr Bruce Pickard, Deputy Mayor of North Tyneside and cabinet member for business and economic development, said: “I know the team here at the council have been working with the company for more than a year to help make this move a reality. I was impressed by the directors when they outlined their business plans and was pleased to be able to support this great addition to the local economy.”

The facility features open floor plans that encourage team work and cohesion, a state-ofthe-art fit-out, a new alarm receiving centre from which to manage live incidents occurring within a home, several outdoor spaces, on site nursery and fitness centre.

Brian Rabinowitz, director of Shelborn Asset Management, which acquired Quorum Park in 2019, said: “We are very excited to welcome Verisure to Quorum Park and believe it is the ideal environment for its business to thrive in the North East.”
