Say I Do At Unique South Tyneside Venue

Issue 40

Jarrow Hall is now offering North East couples an opportunity to get married at its unique location.

Jarrow Hall is set on an 11-acre environmental oasis in the heart of South Tyneside and boasts the historic grade II manor Jarrow Hall House alongside a museum dedicated to the fascinating life and legacy of the Venerable Bede and an extensive Anglo-Saxon farm and village.

After recently acquiring a marriage and civil ceremony licence, Jarrow Hall promises to be the perfect place for an intimate wedding ceremony. Ideal for lovers of history, architecture and the country, the venue boasts a variety of inspiring indoor and outdoor backdrops to create a memorable day. From the fountain room and amphitheatre to the conference room and museum, Jarrow Hall offers something a little different for both small and larger weddings.

Jarrow Hall is hosting an open afternoon on Sunday 21st October 2018 from 2pm to 4pm for brides and grooms to view the site. This will be a free event that will include a glass of fizz and nibbles and will run alongside Jarrow Hall Autumn Fayre.

Couples can celebrate all, or any part of their day at Jarrow Hall as it is fully licensed for civil ceremonies, wedding breakfasts and evening receptions. The venue is suitable for up to 100 guests during the day and 150 guests on an evening.

Leigh Venus, Operations Manager (Culture and Heritage) at Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle is responsible for the direction and development of Jarrow Hall. He said “We are delighted to announce that we have our marriage and civil ceremony licence for a number of our distinctive spaces. This is a particularly exciting time for Jarrow Hall too, as our first ever ceremony will be held on Halloween this year and I’m sure it will be a spectacular day.”

Chelsea Dixon, Programme Lead (Events) at Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle, leads on the wedding offer for the venue. She said “Jarrow Hall is the perfect year-round venue and can offer you something completely different for your special day. Each wedding is tailor-made to suit your requirements, meaning you can make your day as traditional or unconventional as you wish.

“You have a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces to choose from and it’s even possible for us to provide exclusive access to the full site. Furthermore, your dedicated wedding co-ordinator will support you throughout your planning and will be there for you throughout your special day.

“I urge anyone who is looking for a wedding venue to come and visit us on our open day or contact us to speak to one of our wedding advisors.”

Jarrow Hall is operated by Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle working with South Tyneside Council – which owns the Jarrow Hall land and buildings – to ensure the venue has a long-term future for the people of South Tyneside, the wider region and beyond.
