Expo All Set For Rescheduled Date Of Wednesday 2 December

Issue 59

Following a comprehensive risk assessment and consultation with members and stakeholders, The North East Automotive Alliance has announced that its annual Expo will take place this year, at the rescheduled date of Wednesday 2 December.

Adhering to Government guidelines on social distancing and with comprehensive health and safety measures in place, the Expo is returning for its sixth consecutive year to profile the North East automotive sector. It will be held at the Beacon of Light, Sunderland.

Paul Butler, chief executive, North East Automotive Alliance, said: “We are delighted to be able to host the 2020 Expo which was looking uncertain at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. With clear social distancing and full preparation, we are able to proceed with this key calendar event. We canvassed a wide range of members and stakeholders and in reaching our decision we were greatly influenced by the fact that so many are now looking forward to getting back to some element of business normality, to meet up with customers and suppliers and to discuss opportunities and win contracts.

“The day will allow organisations to connect, do business, demonstrate technology and learn about the support available to them.

“The success of the Expo over the previous five years is such that it not only attracts members and visitors from across the North of England but is also a destination for senior figures and industry representatives beyond the region.”

Following on from the success of last year, the Expo will include a Tech Zone featuring industry-leading, new technology as well as a new floor layout plan and a number of keynote speakers and meet the buyer.

Sponsors include MAKE it Sunderland, North East Growth Hub and Invest South Tyneside.
